Whether you’ve been fly fishing for years and have all the gear, skill and knowledge, or you’ve never done it before, head to Wharncliffe Fly Fishery. Here you will find nice and easy casting spots and there are some challenging areas too for the more experienced.
You can hire a boat and get closer to the fish to present your fly if you want to. The reservoir is 7.5 acres, so while it is large, targeting fish from the bank is also possible.

Good stock of fish
The reservoir is well stocked with Rainbows, Blues and Brown trout throughout the year and boasts a good stock of fish.
Wharncliffe Fly Fishery is maintained regularly to keep it strong and healthy. You can catch rainbow, blue and brown trout here to about 5lbs, but the occasional monster comes out too.
